So, it appears that http to https redirect on half the internet suddenly fails this morning. What the hell could cause such a thing?

Didn't Google or Mozilla announce that it will mark HTTP sites insecure some time ago? Perhaps that is in effect now.

Google, because some larger CA signed certificates in the name of Google some years ago, without their authorization.

Can't you smell my T levels?
The real solution is to apply the thermal paste anew. On my laptop it's very problematic, so I left it to a local electronics magician to do.
For the record: I just got my laptop back from the magician and I can barely hear it. The thermal paste was the way to go.

I won't have been working here yet in 2008, so I guess that's fine
Time travel does weird things to grammar...

You have not yet seen what German public construction project management does to the German language... the need to introduce a "Futur III"...

For events, that will probably not take place in the future, but should have so according to official decree.

at +:39 to :41 seconds it looks... cautious or leary... very interesting!

edit: it walks somewhat lower, slower, and approaches in a slightly rounded arc

Ok. I know it's just pile of servos, electronics, plastic and metal structure and clever programing but I actually felt bad for it. And I must say that those moves look very "organic".

Strange hoe they generate emotions, even though they are obviously machines. Probably some good sci-fi themes n there.

Not too strange... uncanny valley avoided, but complex enough to make humans estimate the behavior emotionally. Much like using robots of baby seals to cuddle in Japan.

After all - what else are we humans, if not extremely sophisticated machines?

I'm not a machine, I've got a birth-certificate to prove it. I'm also Spartacus!

I think I'm getting there...
One of our Olympic ladies fell over, and didn't win. Must admit I wasn't surprised, though lots of Sports Presenters appear to be.
You would think they would their research.

Quite like the Winter Olympics, usually bags of light and the pics are good. Do like the ski jump thing, must take some nerve.
