There is probably this reason, but certainly other reasons...
I still have a lot to learn, which makes the double interest of Orbiter which I cannot do without for many, many years.... ;)

I will think about all of this. :hailprobe:

My current add-on is now well under way and I think it could be finished within a month.

Just for information: there are almost 2000 surface tiles and the addon itself has about 700 files

So a little video just to show you an overview.

Be indulgent the frame jumps are due to the fact that my image capture program reduce a lot the frame rate, and therefore the piloting is not easy and really not fluid as it normally is.
At the end of this video I missed the runway... so again don't blame me, I didn't break anything.... :ROFLMAO:

There are also less serious things in this add-on...

🇫🇷:salute:

Hi

here is my 5th character (and 4th version) which will be present in my add-on.

I still tried to improve it : now when this character is walking, her legs are animated.
Of course it's not perfect, but I hope to improve all this later.

Parachute jumping is also possible.
All is made with VesselBuilder from Fred18 !!! :hailprobe:

Good morning

I am in the process of translating the doc of my add-on which will soon be finished into English.

there are about 150 scenarios, I've just added one that I'm showing you:

In this scenario, everything is automatic, you just have to launch it and watch: it's a tutorial.

Note: in this video you won't have all the sounds: indeed some sounds are taken from certain songs, and since Google/Youtube is quite careful... I don't want to pay copyright! !!
Of course in the scn you will have all the "sounds"...

In the end, all that's left to do is take off...

If you can't read the text, go directly to Youtube and enlarge the image....

There will be a seaplane Cessa in my add-on.
And look what we can do with fred's Vesselbuilder module !!!

This is what happens if you exceed the maximum speed

I just improved the explosion of the plane...

And don't worry : all the passengers and the pilot are safe !!!!

this is keep looking better and better jacques (y) say, are those crazy sounds be in game or you add them later in edit, just for fun ?
if they could be in game then probably a good idea would be to add those screams RIGHT after explosions (~15 seconds in video)
not when plane crashes on ground (~30)

keep up :)

The screams are part of the "crash sound" defined in Dan's OrbiterSound. :giggle:

So all the sounds you hear in my add-on are part of my add-on.
I did not add any sounds in the videos.
On the other hand, I deleted certain sounds in some videos that I made in this subject because there are extracts (very short) of some music, and on youtube we cannot publish them because of the rights.

And... I hope I can release my add-on before (or during) this summer....😎

I recently saw your work and is completely awsome. If you don't mind I would like to know how you make those projects. It looks very difficult at first sight.

So... yes and no... ;)

I still took 3 years to do all this...

Question :
are you used to creating 3D objects?

To create add-ons for Orbiter, here is the (simple) knowledge to have:
  • master a drawing software like photoshop
  • know how to use 3D software (I use anim8or : free and very easy)
  • the rest consists of dissecting "text" files to understand how Orbiter integrates these files

Of course knowing how to use C++ is a plus, but I'm not there yet...

There are three main chapters:

1) know (and understand) how to make surface tiles.
There's a very interesting discussion going on right now here:
https://www.orbiter-forum.com/threads/tile-making.41264/
And I had made a little tutorial on the French forum (but it's in French...) here:
http://orbiter.dansteph.com/forum/index.php?topic=14669.msg223826#msg223826

2) Know how to create 3D objects and integrate them into "base" files which is very easy
Here too I made a little tutorial on the French forum (but it's also in French...) here :
http://orbiter.dansteph.com/forum/index.php?topic=14692.msg224610#msg224610

3) and finally know how to make vessels (rockets, planes, but also land vehicles and characters who are actually vessels)
and there the Vesselbuilder module from Fred18 is prodigious, but requires a little learning.
(I'm writing a little tutorial but again in French...)
and FRED always answers the questions we ask him !!!

To learn all this (it took me a long time) the best thing is to dissect what others are doing to understand.
(caution: look, but not copy!!)

And everyone here is kind and ready to help you.

Many people here have helped me on this forum always with kindness. :hailprobe:

(and sorry for my bad english as i'm French and it is not easy for me to write in english, so I use often "gogle traduction) 🥵

Question :

Yes! I used Blender a lot. Long time ago I tried Anim8tor. I don't know if currently you can "export" animations from Blender.

Working with photoshop is not a problem too. Not an expert, but I have done many textures for other simulators to with that program. "Playing" with text files is easier than some years ago, like programming. So I feel I can do it by reading the threads you gave me! Thank you for those links. No matter the French language, of course.

I will have a look on it as soon as possible.

Thank you Jacques!

Awesome! I just going to start learning the object making, and I didn't know how to start. But I have a lot of ideas for objects.

Great! I hope someday I will get to this too :)

@jacquesmomo, thank you so much!

And I've long wanted to ask if you could make the standard "glass cockpit" internal view for your Cessna 172, because now it looks like this (don't pay attention at missing ground textures and sky, that's my fault):

glass.png

But I think it would be nice to have just the standard view without 3D cockpit like this:

Yes, it is possible : just press the "C" key once or twice...
With the keys F8 and C you can do what you want... ;)

And with the next version of my Cessna, there will be other internal points of view (with the Ctl+arrow keys)....
