The High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment aboard the International Space Station (ISS) was activated April 30, 2014. It is mounted on the External Payload Facility of the European Space Agency’s Columbus module. This experiment includes several commercial HD video cameras aimed at the earth which are enclosed in a pressurized and temperature controlled housing. Video from these cameras is transmitted back to earth and also streamed live on this channel.

and here is the LINK for the live channel!

have fun!

It seems to be near the terminator. I can see the Soyuz and the Progress, but the background is black.

WOW....I'm seeing an ocean!

I just can't embed the video here unfortunately... but the view is astonishing, and the biggest effect is that... it's live!

Here's mine:

If you look carefully, you can see the camera lens just beginning to be reflected by its casings window. At the bottom center some lettering can be seen. It can be seen elsewhere in the image as well but I won't spoil it.

Thanks fred18. :)

So impressive! :P

Edit: Out of curiosity, what do you guys think this is? Solar panel? Antenna?

Hm.
All i get is a gray rectangle.
No downlink over Africa?

Hah, came here to see if it was "broken" for everyone or not. Still, might be a bit before they send a tech out.

I've been checking the stream every so often during the last few hours. It's been nothing but gray screen all the time, yet every time I checked, there were always more than 4000 people watching.

What we need now is a twitch channel dedicated to watching paint dry.

It's a bit disappointing, the stream yesterday was very good.
I hope they fix it somehow.
More than 5000 people, including me, right now hoping to see some live streaming again.

I was watching when the gray screen popped up - the solar panel faded through tan to black, presumably at sunset. I was assuming that the stream would be down over orbital night and return in the morning. Guess not. :(

Key word being 'experiment'.....

Is it something controlled from Earth - and in this case, WAKE-UP! ;) - or do we have to wait for an EVA to eventually fix it?

It's actually quite inspiring in its current state: It is quite Grey. It really does stand between the candle and the star . . .
