Did my first custom Crew Dragon mission from A to Z today. Except I called it the "Crew Phoenix" program. Same "world" (scenario) as my space shuttle missions, hence the custom name and the Canadian flags on the rocket.

I've been doing something these past few days: A World Tour in Orbiter 2016 using the DC-6 from Jacquesmomo and Papyref's Rochambeau Addon for Orbiter 2016! And all in real time, so no time warp!

And, before you ask, no I don't wanna do it in a flight sim. Part of the fun is doing it in Orbiter! :D

The world tour began at Cayenne (Rochambeau), French Guiana.
1.png
Passing over the Guiana Space Centre.
2.png
Arrival at Caracas, Venezuela at the end of Day 1.
3.png
Kingston, Jamaica, destination of Day 2.
4.png
Departure from Kingston on Day 3.
5.png
Havana, Cuba, at the end of Day 3.
6.png
Titusville, USA, at the end of Day 4.
7.png
Flying over Daytona Beach and the Daytona International Speedway on Day 5.
8.png
Arrival at Indianapolis, USA, at the end of Day 5. (Base from Max-Q's addon DarkEnergy Spaceplane.)
9.png
The total distance traveled so far (with an average of 2 hours per flight).
10.png

My next flight will be to a custom spaceport I made on Pelee Island, Canada, before going to New York, then Quebec, then Saint-John, Newfoundland and Labrador, where I'll start crossing the ocean by way of Greenland and Iceland.

But I gotta make the bases first, since only Pelee and Quebec are usable so far x)

(And for this reason, the flights don't take place each day, despite the misleading titling of "Day 1, Day 2, etc". Theres usually a few days ellapsing between each flight until I have the base ready).

Next part of the world tour took place today. It was a short skip to Pelee Island, located in the Canadian half of Lake Erie.

Departure from Indianapolis.

The island is visible (and we aren't even far from Indianapolis yet!)

Final approach.

Landing at Pelee Island! As you can see, there is some scenery. I made the island my own little personal base where I intend to launch space shuttles from in the future (especially for the assembly of the Canadian Space Station-2)

Wonderful! I always thought of Pelee Island as a great spot for a future spaceport. The residents would probably disagree greatly... 😂 Will you publicly release it once it is complete? It would be greatly appreciated.

I did think about it to be honest, and I might do, as a matter of fact. But I'm very much treating this as my own personal spaceport (even gave it the name "Croussette Spaceport" lmao), which means it is constantly evolving to match my personal needs. I am also using it as a "museum" of sort for my other smaller addons and experiments, like the Sword spaceship I showed earlier in this threat, or an oceanliner (called the "RMS Oceanliner, I'm great at coming up with names, I know xD), which might not interest anyone else.

So I'll see. But I won't deny it, the idea of putting the base online is tempting... :)

Adding a new module to my interplanetary spaceship (Pioneer One) today!

But horror! The space shuttle didn't reach the airport! It crashed!

A Cessna flew over the scene of the crash. No survivors. RIP :(

Thank you for your kind words. :(

In all seriousness, though. :) Today, I flew with my Deltaglider to Jupiter! :D :D

GL-01 departure from Earth!

Jupiter is visible from afar!

Hello, Your Majesty!
4.png
Arrival at the moon of Europa! We're gonna land there :D
5.png
Getting close to the surface...
6.png
Landed!
7.png
I tried making microtextures for the surface of Europa and, as you can see in the previous two pictures, it isn't great. So, I decided after the flight to port over the surface tiles from UCGO to Orbiter 2016. And it look damn much better already!

I had to edit the config file for Europa first though, since otherwise I don't think it would have loaded the higher-res tiles (it goes to L16)

maybe some kind limit of pics per post would be a good idea
if every post will have 10 pics page will become sluggish and not easy to open for everyone
i always post two pic per post

Soviet experimental anti-ballistic missile (ABM) V-825 (a.k.a. 5Ya27 or S-225) over Sary Shagan testing range - its development was abandoned in favor of the A-35 system. In the real life the V-825 was launched for few test firings only.

An interplanetary ship I'd like to see in the real life :) This one seems to be feasible within this century. Will this particular design be able to reach the outer planets beyond the Asteroid Belt?
