WBN Unit 2 is hovering just under 99%. Looking to do some final testing here in a few days. We still have a 50% load swing test that must pass prior to declaring commercial operation.

More rocket porn :

Though the blue-ish glow for the Soyuz-FG or Ariane 5 boosters... No. Also the Soyuz verniers should be on.

I give it a 4 on 10. Nice models, nice renders, but as often poor knowledge of "how it works".

Luckily, I managed to return home with my own car, when we finished work, the night-watchman just patrolled the area and was able to open the gate for me.

As long as you don't pay the parking time... :)

Had to pay for some weeks last year, when I worked downtown and had to use a public garage... until I got a permanent ticket from my employer for it.

And calling the Soyuz FG heavy-lift is a bit optimistic.

Yeah, I suspect there might be some confusion with the Proton...

A 36 year old has been identified by DNA traces to be the person who threw a large concrete block on a Autobahn last Sunday night, which severely injured a family in the car that was hit by hit. The mother is in a life-threatening condition, the father and the two small children are recovering.

He was identified because his DNA sample was already collected some years ago, when he was arrested in 2009 for another crime.

Some serious forensic skills right there  What was the motivation for it? Also...how? Did he let it drop from an overpass? Hurled it from the side?

Back in eastern europe, there are "those" villages where one always has to be on the look-out for kids (of an unspecified minority :) ) pelting cars with stones for fun (I guess). At least the roads were terrible, so the stone-throwing happened at 30 km/h
We got a puncture once after passing over some shards laid out on the road (the kids were laying them out as we passed, dumb me didn't want to slow down/stop/turn around) . Once something like that happens, though...you keep going if the car and the driver can handle it. If you do stop for repairs, they'll come out in droves to nag you until they've taken everything that isn't securely bolted down to the car

From an overpass, the stone weighted 12 kg and measured 20x30 cm, the crash happened 1:45 AM. The car was unable to evade the stone and drove over it, got out of control and crashed.

Nothing is known about the motives, but I don't expect him to have anything reasonable.

There are psychos, little to do about that. Except when they are identified and should be under close watch...

Well, there are only two options now:

He is insane - then he will be locked away, likely for the rest of his life.
He is not insane - then he will be tried for murder. Means life long imprisonment, which can really mean lifelong, if he gets a poor parole assessment.

Well, maybe in Germany, but it's a bit too expensive over there. So the usual option is to let them roam free with the "condition" to take their drugs. Then they kill someone again and end in an overcrowded prison (like 7-8 persons in a 4m² cell).

Their are some places where you really don't want to be jailed. Well, a bit better than Russia, but still, 0.5 square meters as personal space, locked in with half a dozen of half-mad people... Good Luck getting out of there with some mental sanity...

It was an error to close Devil's Island.

Actually, we would have locked many people away in an mental asylum for much less, but the European court decided that it has to be a completely different system than a prison...

I recall seeing this in a Stapes office supply store a long time ago, and my phone at the time did not have a built-in camera, so I couldn't get my friends to believe me when I told them what I saw. The first rule of Staples is Don't Talk About Staples:

Wasn't it aired after "Ice Road Doctors"?

There's the "has to be built from source locally" option missing at the bottom of the list.... :shifty:
