This new addon contains the following of the Soyuz family vessels:

- Soyuz launcher
- Fregat upper stage
- Soyuz TMA spaceship
- LES test item

This addon fully replaces previous addon "Soyuz_FG(U)_v1.2_25.10.10".
Soyuz TMA in this addon replaces the one from the "ISS_v3.2_07.09.10". However, ISS itself is not replaced - so previous ISS addon is still valid and active.

All vessels are heavily reworked with new VesselM library, upgraded for Orbiter 2010 and optimized for DXD9 graphical client. For more authentic visuals, all supplied scenarios are placed in the decorations of the new "Spaceports" addon.

I've done some test flights and it works great! I love the new "animations" (skirt separation, etc.).
Also, the overall performance feels better and I really like the new sounds and HUD screens. Of course the new automatic programs are awesome!
The reentry stream during reentry really completes it.

Have you considered the old Soyuz-7K series and Soyuz-T as well?

Sure we do! Will be nice addition to the historical side. But it may be going a lot of work, and maybe more custom meshes. Existing meshes might not be fully suitable for a lot of custom actions. So, there is always a trade-off on where the best to put efforts in the next iteration. New Soyuz TMA is good, but still can be improved further...

MS should not be really that different from this TMA within the accuracy of current model. AFAIK, just one antenna, rotating one, was replaced with a fixed array.

Voskhod... Sorry,s till unlikely in near future. For that, the underlying library I use for these addons needs to be significantly updated. Even though it is successfully used in a number of addons by now, it is still in a very immature state. Improving it takes at least half of my already stretched development time - so I have to carefully select where I put my efforts, trying to target lower-hanging fruits first...

Soyuz-TMA + R7 carrier rocket series should definitively be an "essential" as much as the Space Shuttle in the Orbiter fleet. This spacecraft is really a legend, and the only manned spacecraft (with the Chinese "built under license" version) currently in service. And it would be cool to have a multistage / multi-modules example in the default install.

So yeah, focusing on this one first makes a lot of sense, IMHO. :cheers:

I am actually quite aware of the popularity and the need for "repaint" customization options for addons :). This current version of Soyuz does not have an "easy" option for that, but this feature is pretty much on the top of priority list, and hopefully will be ready for the next update.

And it would be cool to have a multistage / multi-modules example in the default install.

Sorry, I am not sure what exactly you mean by that - can you please elaborate? I'd be happy to help (or at least try to help) with the solution if I properly understand the request :).

Aeadar - is this in the "native" Orbiter, without D3D9 client? If yes... I am not even sure if this addon will work decently without the separate graphic client. Never tried :). It is just too loaded for any reasonable performance anyway...

I'm a bit off-topic there, only meant that the "basic" Orbiter distribution doesn't include any "classical inline multi-staged rocket/spacecraft", and that the R-7 / Soyuz-TMA combo would be a perfect candidate. A complex way to say I highly praise your work ;) :thumbup:

I see :) Thanks! Well, I generally like the Orbiter model of distribution. Not including the whole universes in the core pack keeps it to the minimum and speeds up development. (And if smaller core development still feels slow - it will probably stall completely with any big addition to the core). This approach has its drawbacks, like addon fragmentation and interoperability, and different approaches... But the last one is not always bad. For example, this very series of addons deviates a lo from Orbiter's own way of doing things - and it is great that Orbiter is so flexible and easily allows that kind of departures.

Have you installed D3D9 and configured the dynamic links? You can find it on the advanced tap op the video settings (not on ym own PC right now, so I can't make a screenshot for you).
