I thought every town in Germany had its own variant of some weird sausage associated with it? Rennkuckuckwurst?

Oh, that kind of culture is no problem, after all, Wolfsburg assimilated a few historic places after WW2, and with some help by the British, including the birth place of the man who composed the German national anthem. This was just about football culture here.

In terms of sausage, we have the "Volkswagen Currywurst" here, which is still the most successful product by Volkswagen in total numbers. 7 Million sausages had been sold last year, all labelled as "VW original part". You also get it with VW branded curry ketchup.

Yes, it sounds a lot like Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler....

I wonder if we could get something like that in Chattanooga? But what would we call it?

We find the punishment of the train dispatcher simply scapegoating. The true fool is on an upper position.

Absolutely. Actually he is permitted to do so on his own, for example when the automatic system fails. But right now, there is an investigation going on, why the two radio calls by the dispatcher to the trains to stop did not reach the trains. He immediately noticed his error and tried to stop both trains by calling them via radio, but it looks like there is a much larger gap in GSM-R coverage over the track as officially permitted.

GSM-R had some technical troubles because the radio signals of it interfered with the frequencies of other mobile phone systems and needed to get their emission power reduced, dramatically shrinking their distance. Looks like this was done without installing additional base stations.

Well, I am pretty sure, getting a Currywurst production line started in Chattanooga is easy. Just call the right people at the right VW department. But I am not sure if this really works in the USA, Currywurst is a very German dish, which did not yet export successfully.

What is the fast food dish of choice in Chattanooga?

EDIT: Just found out by a quick research: VW Currywurst is already sold inside the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, the German workers there already demanded it.

Well, we are famous for these little Krystal Burgers (White Castle of the south).

Other things made here: the Little Debbie snack cakes are made locally. Moon Pies (don't like them myself), and Double Cola. Probably lots more, but those came to mind immediately.

Oh! Chattanooga Whiskey, not been open very long here. It's been made in Illionois or someplace, but we got the law changed and now it's made here. Not a great whiskey, but after 2 or 3 bottles it really doesn't matter.

Will you "pass emissions" if you eat one?

Sounds interesting, but I don't think you can get one in the U.S. without buying a Volkswagen. Sausage with a side of car.

You get a few more horses in these than you expect in sausages of the same class.

What's the range? If they made an adult sized version of this (single seat, head sticking out moon roof) I'd probably drive it to work. The full size is too pricey and has more seats than I need.

Funny thing is I remember that smell that the old VW Beetles had inside, my dad had two of them when I was little, a 60s Beetle and then a 73 Super Beetle. All old cars have a certain leather smell, but the old VWs have their own version.

And for some reason I'm imaging the VW sausage tastes kind of like that smell...weird.

Eewwwww.... luckily not. Not sure how a Beetle in the USA smelled like, but beetles had been pretty infamous for having many ways to let oil vapours enter the cabin.
